The Winnipeg Wesmen picked up an impressive 1-0 victory Friday night against the Mount Royal University Cougars in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg in a tight battle for playoff positioning improves their record to 2-4-1. The Cougars with the loss drop to 0-4-1.

Richie Rundle scored the only goal of the contest in the 42nd minute, just before the halftime break. Rundle took a perfect pass from Hamza Mustapha and headed the ball past Mount Royal goalkeeper David Thalheimer to put the Wesmen up 1-0.

The windy conditions at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex made it difficult for either team to get any great scoring chances in the final 45 minutes.
