Todd Ford

  • Title
    Goalie Coach

Todd Ford was born and raised in Calgary, Alta. playing hockey locally as a goalie. In 2000 Ford earned a spot on the Western Hockey League's Swift Current Broncos where he would further garner his goalie skills and eventually go on to continue his WHL career with the Prince George Cougars and Vancouver Giants.

Ford was fortunate to be given the opportunity to showcase his skills in the 2002 Canadian Hockey League Top Prospects game on route to one of his lifetime hockey highlights – being drafted that same year to the Toronto Maple Leafs as part of the 2002 NHL Draft.

Since that time, Ford played over 8 years of professional hockey with various organizations throughout the USA primarily in the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL. During this time he was named to two ECHL All-Star teams, named a first team ECHL All-Star (2009-2010) and named the ECHL Goaltender of the year (2009-2010). He spent the later part of his North American Hockey Career playing as a member of the renowned AHL team the Hershey Bears and ultimately found himself sporting an NHL Washington Capitals Jersey for a short stint.

Upon the conclusion of his North American Hockey Career, Ford ventured to Germany and enjoyed a season abroad as a starting goalie for a prominent team. While playing professionally, Ford has also been a goalie coach at all levels of the game for almost a dozen years. Currently Ford works as an independent goaltending consultant with organizations looking to develop their goaltending talent. Some of his past clients include the Calgary Hitmen during the 2015-2016 season, the Junior A Okotoks Oilers, the Okanagan Hockey School (current), the Global Sport Academy 2015-2019 and is the goalie coach for both the men’s and women’s Mount Royal University Hockey Teams.
