Biography

2014-15

Coach Shawn Sky, once again, went back to the college well and recruited another exceptional player in Jonathan Phillips. Phillips, the former Briercrest college standout, has committed to become the new Libero of the men''s volleyball program. With the departure of veteran Jordan Or, Phillips will be thrust right into action next season for the Cougars. The second year libero has been in these pressure packed scenarios before and is not shy of the challenge. Last season Phillips represented Canada on the Junior National and was voted the best U21 volleyball player in Saskatchewan. His fierce desire to win and game readiness make him key component for the Cougars in 2015-16.

2015-16

Philips, in his first year with the program, took over the bulk of the libero duties in 2015-16. He led the team with 156 digs and also chipped in with 31 assists.
