Biography

2011-12

Hutchings began his career with the Alberta Golden Bears in 2011-12. He started in 13 of Alberta’s 2011 Conference games and played in five playoff contests. He played the third most minutes on the team as a rookie suiting up for 1064.

2012-13

Hutchings was forced to sit out 2012-13 after transferring from the University of Alberta. However, the previous summer he was named to the Vancouver White Caps FC U-23 team of the PDL.

2013-14

In 2013, the defender who hails from Calgary, found the back of the net four times and added one assist. He finished second on the Cougars in points and first among all Cougar defenders. Known primarily for his defensive game, Hutchings is an immovable rock for Mount Royal at the back end.

2014-15

Hutchings saw his numbers dip last year, after having a career offensive year in 2013. He chipped in two assists in 13 games for the Cougars in 2014-15. This summer Hutchings will be playing with Calgary Foothills in the U-23 PDL which is a direct feeder league to the MLS. 

2015-16

Hutchings asserted himself as one of the top players in the conference in 2015-16. In 11 games, the defender scored three times in 11 games and was often moved up to the striker position when the Cougars’ were desperate for a goal. He was named to the Canada West Second All-Star team when the awards came out in November.
