Hornbeck comes to Mount Royal as a graduate of the FC Edmonton''s Academy after playing there for 3 years. He has been a goalkeeper from day one playing between the sticks since he was eight years old. At the U15 level, he was selected for the Alberta provincial team and won gold at the tournament in Vancouver.
