Biography

2012-13

After spending three seasons in the QMJHL, Brown was recruited alongside winger and friend Devin Gannon out of the Cowichan Valley Capitals organization. His first CIS season was cut short when he suffered a knee injury, limiting him to just six games.

2013-14

After a long off-season of rehabbing his injury, Brown had a breakout year in 2013-14, leading Mount Royal to their first ever Canada West playoff appearance. His 25 points were good for third on the team behind linemates Cody Cartier and Devin Gannon.

2014-15

In training camp, the players unanimously voted Brown the new captain of the Cougars after the departure of veteran Kevin Knopp. Brown set a career high in goals cashing in 13 times, and led MRU with five power-play goals. He finished third in team scoring with 23 points. For the second straight season he carried the Cougars into the playoffs. In six games, Brown led all Cougars in goals with four.

2015-16

For the second straight season the captain of the Cougars was the heart and soul of the team. Brown tied a career-high goals and was third on the team in scoring. He led the Cougars with a +23 rating and was second on the team with four power play goals. Brown is already the all-time leader in CIS goals and will break most of the team’s all-time records this season if he stays healthy.
