Biography

2011-12

The Sylvan Lake, Alberta native began his college career at Robert Morris of the NCAA. In 34 games with the Colonials, Cartier scored twice and registered 15 points with a +15 rating. At the end of the season, Cody transferred to Mount Royal.

2012-13

After transferring from Robert Morris, Cartier was forced to sit out the entire season. He was however permitted to play in the Chinook Senior Men’s League for the Innisfail Eagles. Cody put up 10 points including six goals in 10 games for the Eagles.

2013-14

In his CIS debut, Cartier was a point-a-game player, notching 27 points in 27 games. He was second only to his linemate, Devin Gannon. He was a +2 and was an integral part of the Cougars’ first ever playoff run.

2014-15

2014-15 was a statement year for Cartier as he affirmed himself as one of nation’s top players. He scored 39 points in 28 games, good enough for third in Canada West. Cartier led Mount Royal in every offensive category and was on the team’s top penalty kill and power play units. He was named a Canada West First Team All-Star and a CIS Second Team All-Star. Cody was also named Mount Royal’s Male Athlete of the Year, marking the first time a hockey player has won the award, since the transition to the CIS.
