Bwidju Mutongolo earns Athlete of the Week honours after a productive weekend for the Cougars, recording two assists across MRU's Edmonton road trip. The forward picked up an assist in the Cougars' win over the Grant MacEwan Griffins before adding another in a 3-1 loss to the Alberta Golden Bears. Mutongolo's playmaking ability helped create scoring opportunities for the Cougars throughout the weekend, contributing directly to two of MRU's goals. The Cougars will return home in Week 3 when they host Alberta in a rematch for the home opener.

Players Bench Female Athlete of the Week: Analisa Galvez

Analisa Galvez earns Athlete of the Week honours after a strong opening weekend for the Cougars, recording a goal and an assist across MRU's two wins over the Lethbridge Pronghorns. Galvez recorded an assist in the Cougars' 2-1 victory before finding the back of the net in their 3-1 win to complete the weekend sweep. Her offensive contributions helped MRU open the season with a perfect 2-0 record. MRU returns home in Week 3 to host the Grant MacEwan Griffins in its home opener on Sept. 12.
