Players Bench Male Athlete of the Week: Finn Marshall

Finn Marshall takes home Athlete of the Week honours after a standout weekend for the Cougars. Marshall opened the weekend by scoring the game-winning goal in Friday's 2-0 victory over the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack. He continued his strong performance on Sunday, finding the back of the net once again while adding an assist to help MRU secure another 2-0 win over the UBCO Heat. Marshall and the Cougars will look to extend their winning streak to six games next weekend when they travel to take on the University of Victoria Vikes.

Players Bench Female Athlete of the Week: Ella Filek

Ella Filek takes home Athlete of the Week honours after a strong performance between the posts for the Cougars. Filek made six saves in Saturday's matchup against the University of Calgary Dinos, keeping the Cougars within striking distance right until the final whistle in a 1-0 loss. Filek and the Cougars will look to bounce back next weekend when they host the University of Saskatchewan Huskies at home on Stadium Field.
