The MRU Cougars women's volleyball team is set to return to competition for the 2026-27 season as the program officially announced its schedule on June 24th.

After navigating an injury-filled 2025-26 campaign, the Cougars will look to return to full strength and build momentum heading into the new season. The schedule features 20 regular season matches, including key contests against Calgary, UBC, Alberta and Manitoba.

Season Opener
The Cougars will officially open the season on Friday, October 23 when they host the Thompson Rivers WolfPack at Kenyon Court.
The opening weekend will mark the first meeting between the two programs since the 2024-25 season. In their last matchup, MRU and TRU split the season series, with each team earning a victory.

Key Matchups
Highlights of the schedule include:
Oct. 23-24, 2026 vs. TRU - Opening weekend of the season and the Cougars' home opener.
Nov. 13-14, 2026 at Calgary - The first matchup with the U of C Dinos.
Nov. 27-28, 2026 vs. Manitoba - The final series before the holiday break and the conclusion of the first half of the season.
Feb. 19-20, 2027 vs. Alberta - The Cougars' final home series of the regular season.

Home Schedule
Fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch the Cougars in action at Kenyon Court this season, with 10 home matches on the schedule.
Supporters unable to attend road matches can follow the team throughout the season on Canada West TV.

With a mix of returning talent, new additions and another challenging Canada West schedule ahead, the Cougars will look to continue building toward success during the 2026-27 campaign.
