WSOC: Cougars announce 2026 women’s soccer schedule

The MRU Cougars Women's Soccer Team are set to return to competition for the 2026 season as the program officially announced its schedule on June 22nd.
Coming off of a season that saw them finish the regular season with a 10-3-1 record and reach the Canada West final four, the Cougars will look to build on that momentum with a schedule that features 14 regular season games and key matchups against the U of C, MacEwan and the University of Saskatchewan.

Season Opener
The Cougars will officially open the season on Saturday, September 5th when they travel to take on the Lethbridge Pronghorns. The home opener is scheduled for Saturday September 12th at MRU's new championship field against MacEwan. Last year the Cougars split the season series with the Griffins with a week 2 win at home before falling in week 4 by a score of 3-2 on the road.

Highlights of the schedule include:
Sept 12, 2026 vs. MacEwan — Home Opener
Sept 26, 2026 vs Calgary — A Rematch of the Canada West Bronze Medal Game.
Oct 17/18, 2026 vs. Manitoba — Final Home Series of the Season
Oct 25 at MacEwan — Final Game of the Regular Season
The Canada West Playoffs will begin during the week of Oct 30 - Nov 1.

Home Schedule
Fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch the Cougars at home this season with 7 games scheduled at home. Last year home field proved to be quite an advantage for the Cougars as they posted an impressive 5-1-1 record.
With a mix of returning talent, new additions and another challenging conference schedule ahead, Mount Royal will look to make their mark during the 2026 campaign.
