CALGARY, AB - Today Mount Royal University Cougars Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2023-24 U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian Awards. Seventy-four Cougars student-athletes were congratulated for their academic achievement and thanked for their dedication in the classroom and on the field of play.
 
To obtain this prestigious honour from U SPORTS, Mount Royal varsity student-athletes must maintain a 3.4 or higher GPA while enrolled as a full-time student. These top performers make up over 50 per cent of all student-athletes at MRU, making the University one of the academic leaders in the Canada West Conference.

Karla Karch, Director, Cougars Athletics and Recreation said. "This award is truly a testament to the commitment you have to being a Cougar student-athlete. Congratulations!"
 
Women's hockey had the most student-athletes honoured with a total of 15, also leading the charge in percentage of the roster with 58% of members named an Academic All-Canadian.
