CALGARY- The Mount Royal Cougars lost their third straight 85-67 to the Fraser Valley Cascades. Leading the Cougars in scoring on the night were James Lefebrve with 16 points and fifth year guard
Deng Awak with 12 points.
The Cascades jumped out to an early 14-2 lead. Their ball movement and outside shooting left the Cougars baffled through the first 16 points of the game. MRU couldn't contain the UFV offence in their zone and UFV ran the score up to 27-9 after the first quarter.
The Cougars brought a better effort in the second quarter when they switched to man defence.  The Cougars outscored UFV 17-12 in the second half to climb back into the game. At the half UFV led 39-26.
The Cascades continued to dominate the court in both points and fouls in the third. They scored 28 points in the third to go along with two technical fouls they picked up, jawing at the referee.
For the second time Mount Royal was able to outscore UFV over the course of a quarter but the whole they dug themselves was just too much to overcome. Mount Royal dropped 23 to the Cascades' 20. Manny Dulay was lights out from three point range dropping a game-high 31 points to lead the Cascades to victory 85-67.
After suffering their third straight loss the Cougars fall to 6-9, while UFV remains undefeated at 15-0, leading the Explorer Division.
The Cougars will have a shot at revenge tomorrow evening on Kenyon Court. Tip-off between the Cougars and Cascades is set for 5 p.m.
