Nathan Higgins

    Men's Hockey Director of Hockey Operations
Nathan Higgins joined the Cougar men’s hockey program in 2014.

Supporting the head coach, Higgins is the director of men’s hockey operations, coordinating operational needs such as player evaluation, fund-raising, budget management, travel arrangements and alumni relations. He also coordinates benefit games and events and manages budgets, registration and staffing for the Cougars men's hockey summer hockey camps.

Prior to joining Cougar Athletics, Higgins was a business executive and volunteered as district commissioner for a national youth sport organization. Higgins was a goaltender in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, coached minor hockey and was a scout in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. 

In 2018, Higgins was equipment manager for the U SPORTS/Hockey Canada Women’s High-Performance Hockey Development camp and in 2021 he was team leader for the U SPORTS All-Stars Hockey Canada series against the National Junior Team prospects.  

Higgins holds a Bachelor degree in civil engineering from Queen’s University and a 
Master’s degree in sports leadership from Concordia University Chicago. Higgins also maintains a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
