Rob Godfrey

Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Rob Godfrey brings a deep passion for hockey and a wealth of experience in collegiate athletics to Mount Royal University. He began his hockey career playing minor hockey in Thunder Bay before advancing to four years at the Junior A level. His skill and dedication earned him a NCAA Division I scholarship to play at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Rob graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Pre-Law and remained at Holy Cross as an assistant coach until 2011. Later that year, he moved to Calgary and joined MRU as Manager of Cougars Athletics. In 2018, he stepped into his current role as Associate Director, where he oversees the university’s eight varsity teams and leads the sport science Integrated Support Team for Cougars Athletics and Recreation.

In addition to his work at MRU, Rob serves as Director of Hockey Operations for the STIX Hockey Academy. His experience as both a student-athlete and coach at the collegiate level, combined with his leadership in athletics administration, has been instrumental in the continued growth and success of MRU’s athletic programs.
