Kirsten Kirwer

Kirsten has been with Mount Royal University since July 2021 as the Recreational Sports Supervisor. She holds a Master of Arts in Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation with a specialization in Adapted Physical Activity from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education, majoring in Physical Literacy, from Mount Royal University.

Kirsten has extensive experience in adaptive, inclusive and non-disabled sports, physical activity and recreation. She has worked with numerous organizations, including ASRAB, Special Olympics, Calgary Sledge Hockey Association, and AAFS.

As an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) consultant within the sport and recreation industry, Kirsten is dedicated to creating accessible opportunities for all individuals. She has also served as a board member for Special Olympics Alberta and is a sessional instructor at MRU within the HPED program.
