Kerri Downer

Kerri has been the Head Athletic Therapist at Mount Royal University since 2018. With a career spanning over two decades, she has worked with a variety of sports teams including football, hockey, rugby, basketball, volleyball, soccer and field hockey at universities across Ontario and Alberta since 2001.

In addition to her role at MRU, Kerri has served as a Clinical Assistant at the Benson Concussion Institute located in the Markin MacPhail Centre at Winsport since 2011. Her work there focuses on concussion management and rehabilitation.

Kerri’s experience also includes her tenure with Waterpolo Canada’s Senior Men’s Integrated Support Team from 2011 to 2017, during which she traveled internationally to training camps and competitions, further expanding her expertise in athletic therapy.

She holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario and a diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College. Kerri has been a certified Athletic Therapist with the Canadian Athletic Therapists’ Association since 2001.Â
