Brooklyn joined Mount Royal University in February 2024 as the Aquatic Coordinator and First Aid Programmer, bringing over eight years of experience in aquatics, including five in leadership roles. She holds multiple certifications from the Lifesaving Society, including Lifesaving Instructor, CPR Instructor, Swim Instructor, National Lifeguard, and Standard First Aid. Brooklyn also holds a Pool Operator Level 1 certification through the Recreation Facility Personnel program.
Before joining MRU, Brooklyn was involved in creating innovative aquatherapy programs with Cerebral Palsy Alberta and spent three years developing neurorehabilitation programming at Reyu Paralysis Recovery Centre, supporting individuals with neurological impairments. She also gained valuable leadership experience through her work with Strathcona County.
Brooklyn holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a major in Adapted Physical Activity from the University of Alberta and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work with a specialization in International and Community Development at the University of Calgary.
