2014-15
Coach Sandra Lamb has found another tall, long hitter for her frontcourt in Carolina Alongi. Alongi comes with a lot of high praise for her leadership ability. Former head coach Ernie Tsu, made note of her work ethic every day at practice. She was the captain of her 403 Selects club team for the past two seasons. In 2014-15 Carolina made a name for herself in the Alberta Volleyball world. The Calgary native played in the Alberta Provincial All-Star Game and earned the Myrna Empey Scholarship Award as the top high school volleyball player in Calgary. She also represented team Alberta on five separate occasions in indoor and beach.
2015-16
Carolina Alongi took home the Canada West Rookie of the Year Award in 2015-16. She was exceptional in her first year of CIS play, ranking second on her team in points per set (2.7) and kills per set (2.3). She was an integral part of the Cougars offence that led them back to the Canada West playoffs for the first time in three years. She was later named the Female Rookie Athlete of the Year at Cougar Night.
