Getting to the game just got easier for Mount Royal University students.

Cougars Athletics & Recreation is introducing the Blue Crew Pass, an improved ticketing process that makes it easier for students to access their free tickets to Cougars home games.

With the Blue Crew Pass, students only need to claim their pass once at the beginning of the season. Using their MRU Student ID as a discount code, they can activate their pass and use it for eligible Cougars home games throughout the year — eliminating the need to redeem a new ticket for every game.

Once activated, the Blue Crew Pass can also be added to a mobile digital wallet, making it easy to have admission ready when arriving at the venue.

"We're excited to offer Mount Royal students a faster, hassle-free way to get Cougar game tickets this year," said Director of Athletics and Recreation, Karla Karch. "Our students show tremendous pride in our varsity teams, and removing extra steps makes supporting them effortless."

The Blue Crew Pass is part of a broader MRU Blue Crew initiative of celebrating campus spirit and showing pride in the Mount Royal community. The initiative encourages students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university to wear blue or MRU-branded gear on Fridays and show their connection to the campus community.

For Cougars fans, that spirit comes to life at the game. The Blue Crew Pass provides MRU students with access to ticketed home games across soccer, basketball, volleyball and hockey, offering more opportunities to experience Cougars varsity sport, showcase their school spirit, and be part of the game-day atmosphere on campus.

"Community spirit is at the heart of the Mount Royal experience, and athletics plays a huge role in bringing our community together,"said Dr. Tim Rahilly, President and Vice-Chancellor of Mount Royal University. "As we continue to expand the Blue Crew initiative across campus, this new pass gives our students another seamless way to show their spirit and rally behind our Cougars. That pride reaches far beyond game day, and I encourage everyone, from our students and employees to our alumni, to show their support by wearing blue or MRU gear every Friday." 

Students can claim their Blue Crew Pass by adding the membership to their cart and entering their MRU Student ID as the discount code at checkout at mrucougars.com/bluecrew.

The Blue Crew Pass does not include admission to the 2026 Crowchild Classic hockey games at the Scotiabank Saddledome, the 2027 U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Championship or other national championship events. Cougars Athletics & Recreation may also designate select games where the Blue Crew pass will not be valid.
