Players Bench Female Athlete of the Week: Julia Duke

Julia Duke is this week's Female Athlete of the Week after her superb weekend on the ice. On Friday, the Emerald Park, Sask. product added an important insurance goal on the powerplay to seal a 2-0 road win over the Alberta Pandas. On Saturday, Duke outdid herself. The fourth-year forward netted two goals which both came on the advantage. Duke was the star of the Cougars' powerplay, which went 3-for-4 for Saturday and is sitting at a league-best 42.9% success rate. Duke's second goal of Saturday's contest would be the eventual game winner, keeping the Cougars with a perfect 6-0-0 record.

Players Bench Male Athlete of the Week: Jacob McLellan

Jacob McLellan earns this week's Players Bench Male Athlete of the Week honours after a standout start to the basketball season for the Cougars. In Friday's matchup, McLellan recorded a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double while adding four steals to help Mount Royal defeat the MacEwan Griffins. He followed that performance with a team-high 31 points on Saturday, leading the Cougars to another victory and completing the weekend sweep of the Griffins to open the season 2-0. The second-year guard will look to build on his strong start this weekend when Mount Royal hosts the Calgary Dinos.
