Players Bench Male Athlete of the Week: Finn Marshall

Finn Marshall earns this week's Players Bench Male Athlete of the Week honours after delivering a standout two-goal performance to lead the Cougars to victory on Sunday. On Friday against the Saskatchewan Huskies, Marshall recorded three shots, including one on goal, in a narrow 1-0 loss. 

Marshall responded on Sunday against the Lethbridge Pronghorns, finding the back of the net twice to account for both goals in Mount Royal's 2-0 victory. His offensive performance helped the Cougars bounce back from Friday's loss and secure a weekend split. 

Marshall and the Cougars will now turn their attention to their final regular-season matchup, as they prepare to host the Calgary Dinos on Oct. 24.

Players Bench Female Athlete of the Week: Brooke Miller

Brooke Miller takes home the Players Bench Female Athlete of the Week honours following an outstanding weekend for the Cougars. On Saturday against the Manitoba Bisons, Miller entered as a first-half substitute and made an immediate impact, scoring twice to help lead Mount Royal to a 4-2 victory. 

Miller carried that momentum into Sunday's rematch, finding the back of the net again and adding an assist in the Cougars' 5-1 win over Manitoba. With three goals and one assist across the weekend, Miller played a key role in helping MRU complete the weekend sweep of the Bisons. 

Miller and the Cougars will look to carry that offensive momentum into their next matchup when they travel north to face the Alberta Pandas on Oct. 24.
