CALGARY, ALTA. - The Cougars soccer teams are back in action after a long offseason and a men's soccer Canada West silver medal. The first game of the Mount Royal Athletics 2025-26 season kicks off with the men's soccer team hosting the University of Alberta on Saturday, August 23, followed by the women's soccer team on the road the following week to take on the University of Saskatchewan.

After returning to the Canada West championship for the second year, this time taking home silver, the men's soccer team take on the University of Alberta, a rematch of the 2024 semi-final. The men will play at home twice the first weekend, followed by a four-game away hiatus, eventually returning home for a championship rematch against the University of British Columbia. Senior night will take place on October 18th for a Crowchild Classic matchup against the University of Calgary.

The women will start on the road this season a week after the men's home opener. They will head down to Saskatchewan to take on the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina. They will return for their home opener against Alberta on September 6th. They will play sporadically at home and away for the rest of the season before finishing at home for senior night on October 19th for another Crowchild Classic Matchup against the University of Calgary.
