WATERLOO, ONTARIO – Mount Royal University women's hockey standout Aliya Jomha has been named a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian, capping off a historic 2024-25 season. The veteran forward cemented her legacy as one of the greatest players in Cougars history, setting multiple program records while earning national recognition.
Jomha was instrumental in the Cougars' success this season, recording 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in 24 games, averaging 1.04 points per game. Her 13 goals set a new MRU single-season record, and she further etched her name in the history books by becoming the Cougars' all-time leader in both goals (34) and points (86).
Her stellar play throughout the season also earned her Canada West First Team All-Star honors, highlighting her as one of the top performers in the conference. Jomha's offensive prowess, leadership, and consistency made her a key piece in the Cougars' lineup.
Beyond her collegiate success, Jomha also represented Canada on the international stage, winning a silver medal at the 2025 FISU Games. As she graduates from Mount Royal with a degree in psychology, her contributions to the program, both on and off the ice, leave a lasting legacy.
