Coming off another weekend in British Columbia, the Mount Royal women's soccer team split games with the UBCO Heat, losing 2-1 on Friday and winning 2-0 Saturday night against the TRU Wolfpack to bring their record to 2-4-1.

Players Bench Male Athlete of the Week: Sjard Strauss
After securing their first-weekend sweep of the season, the Mount Royal Cougars men's soccer team took down the UNBC Timberwolves 2-0 on Friday and the Victoria Vikes 1-0 on Saturday. The Cougars extended their record to 4-1-4. The Vikes were given their first season loss as the Cougars returned to the U SPORTS Top 10 list.
The Players Bench Athlete of the Week was third-year Health & Phys. Ed student
Sjard Strauss. The goalie from Stockelsdorf, Germany earned himself two shutouts this weekend. Strauss made two crucial saves for the Cougars on Friday and was still a force in Sunday's game taking down undefeated Victoria although he faced zero shots on target.
