Box Score CALGARY – The Mount Royal Cougars women's volleyball team took on the Macewan Griffins in game two of the weekend series Saturday after a crazy five set thriller that saw the home team come back from a two-set deficit.

The first set of this one was a tight battle with both teams coming out of the gate swinging. The Cougars were riding momentum from Friday's game but it was obvious that the Griffins weren't planning on giving up any free points. Thokbuom was huge at the net for the Cougars making timely blocks and charging the ball on offense.

The second set was all Cougars thank to a long service run from
Chantel Park that saw the home team up 13-2. They cruised from there finishing the set with a .522 hitting percentage and take it 25-9.

The third set was an absolute barn burner as the Griffins attempted to mount a comeback to match the Cougars from Friday.
Cassidy Kitchen was great off the bench for the Cougars bringing in a strong veteran presence when the Griffins were applying pressure. This one would end 25-17 for the home team giving them the victory in straight sets.

The Cougars head to Manitoba next weekend to take on the Bisons while the Griffins will be facing the Trinity Western Spartans.
