Box Score CALGARY – The Mount Royal Cougars had their work cut out for them as they hosted the Macewan Griffins in a rematch after a hard fought five setter the previous evening. This time around the Cougars would settle in and would end up takeing the match three sets to zero.

The first set featured runs on each side of the court. First the Griffins would jump out to a lead. The it was the Cougars who settled into a groove and forcing the visiting team to use their timeouts before the technical timeout.

In the second the Cougars would maintain the momentum and control the pace of play. At the technical timeout the score was 16-10 in favour of the home team. It would be a smooth ride to the second set victory as the Griffins couldn't get within striking distance. The Cougars showed off some powerful and accurate serving getting six aces and just one error in the third.

The third set was closer to Friday's match as the Griffins were ahead for the first half of the frame. Macewan had the lead up until the tenth point when Mount Royal was able to take it away and wouldn't look back from there

Trent Mounter was firing on all cylinders in this one garnering 13 kills and leading his team to the straight set victory.

The Cougars will head on the road next weekend to play the Manitoba Bisons while the Griffins will travel to play the Trinity Western Spartans.
