Cougars' latest recruit selected for Junior National Team

CALGARY - Nyadholi Thokbuom, the newest Cougar ready to hit the court for the 2018-19 season, was selected for Canada's Junior National Team this summer.

Thokbuom, a middle that hails from Calgary, was one of 28 volleyball players selected to take part in the program that concludes with a tournament at the US HP Championships. The program runs from July 14-29, operating out of Brock University in St. Catherines, ON. Cougars head coach Sandra Lamb is pleased about the selection and can't wait to see her progress.

"We are excited for Dholi to begin her Team Canada experience. We are looking forward to watching her on the National stage representing her country. We can't wait to have her training full time in the Cougar program, the future is bright!"

As for Thokbuom, she's simply ecstatic about the opportunity to play for Team Canada.

"I've only been playing club volleyball for three years which isn't very long. To even be recognized and then chosen to represent Canada is a huge honour. I'm extremely thankful for everyone that has helped me get to where I am in my volleyball career!"

The Canada West volleyball is set to be released mid-June for the 2018-19 season.
