    Mount Royal will head to Rutherford Rink for the Canada West Semifinals against Saskatchewan. The series will also feature the two front runners for the Canada West MVP award. Connor Rankin led the conference in scoring this season and was simply spectacular for the Cougars in 2016-17. Huskies’ goaltender Jordan Cooke, last season’s MVP, made a strong case to repeat as the winner again this year. Rankin scored four times in three games against Manitoba and will undoubtedly put Cooke to the test this weekend.

    CALGARY – The UBC Thunderbirds kept their playoff hopes alive on Saturday afternoon after completing a weekend sweep of the Mount Royal Cougars. UBC won 2-1 for the second night in a row on goals from Luke Lockhart and Joe Antilla. Cam Maclise scored the lone goal for Mount Royal in their sixth straight loss.
