The 2018-2019 season was a historic one for Men's Basketball. For the first time in the Mount Royal Cougars U SPORTS history the team made playoffs. While they were unable to move past the early stages of playoffs with a close game against the University of Regina, it was a historic moment nonetheless. With an average of 80 points per game the men finished the season with a 8 - 12 record.

The 2018/2019 season showed strong perfomances from LJ Hegwood and team MVP Glen Yang. Both players showed excellence and leadership this season, allowing younger teamates to gain more confidence on the court.

The Cougars will look to build on regular season and post-season success with a number of returning young players in 2019/2020.
