Four Mount Royal Volleyball Athletes Honoured by Canada West
With the quarterfinals finishing up last weekend, a total of four Cougars were honoured by Canada West today as they released their all-star and all-rookie teams. 
 
Tyler Schmidt was named a 2018/19 Canada West men's volleyball first-team all-star after putting up 318 kills, 378.5 points, 28 service aces, and 115 digs. The senior, hailing from Calgary, Alberta, became the Canada West all-time points and kills leader this season and will lead the Cougars into the Canada West semi-finals for the first time in program history.
 
Tanner Greves was also honoured by Canada West, as he was named to the 2018/19 Canada West second-team all-stars. Greves had 650 assists, averaging 9.56 assists per set which ranked him fourth in Canada West. 
 
Luis Lange rounds out the trio of Mount Royal men's volleyball players to be spotlighted by the league. The 6′6″ middle was named to the 2018/19 Canada West all-rookie team. In his first season with the Cougars, Lange racked up just over 100  kills, 144.5 points and 56 total blocks. 
 
On the women's side, the Dholi Thokbuom was named to the 2018/19 Canada West women's volleyball all-rookie team. Thokbuom put up 113 kills, 172 points and 58 total blocks in her first season at Mount Royal. She led the team in solo blocks and ranked second in hitting percentage. She is one of the most exciting athletes in the league and will one to watch next season.
